PRIVACY
BOARDING Each Bokhara Pet
Resort canine guest has their very own large private sleeping
accommodations, their own private outdoor exercise patio area,
and we never allow a guest to become intimidated through
forced interaction with other strange dogs. Just like a
quality hotel, we believe each
guest is entitled to their own private accommodation space
to lessen stress and promote a healthy boarding experience.
All of our canine accommodations have both an indoor and
outdoor private area with free access to the outside at
will. We do not provide shared or co-mingled boarding
unless the roommates are part of your family household.
We do not believe it is at all
safe or healthy for your pet to be co-mingled/co-boarded with other
strange dogs while you are away. We believe it is trying enough for
your pet to be
separated from you overnight without the added stress of
being forced to co-board or co-mingle with strange dogs who are not
part of your family group. We
work very hard to make sure your pet has an enjoyable and SAFE experience
while you are away.

Boarding & Lodging:
Pets visiting Bokhara will have a healthy, enjoyable & rewarding
experience with all of our fresh country air and the
immaculately clean indoor/outdoor areas for pet lodging and exercise.
Located right on Elk Lake and very close to
Grand Traverse Bay, and Torch Lake.
Special
Holiday Check Outs:
Bokhara does offer a special check out period on all holidays
between the hours of 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM on the actual holiday
date. Any departures on the holiday date will be
charged for the full day of departure.
Feline Guests are not boarded in small cages in
the same areas as dogs such as your veterinarian or other kennels use, but our
purr...line guests are quartered in luxury suites all
containing play and climbing toys, comfy sleeping beds and extra large
litter boxes - all within a completely separate, quiet,
very quaint, and
unique antique late 1800's era guest cottage.
Bokhara provides CAGE
FREE feline boarding in a special Victorian cottage - See our

Bokhara's In-Home Pet Sitting Service & Extra Pet Services.
We do understand
that not all pets do well in an away boarding facility, for
those very reasons please read about the alternatives that are
offered through our facility and our new services. Serving
Traverse City, Williamsburg, Elk Rapids, and the Torch Lake
Area.

Activities Programs: The Bokhara
grounds has over 10 acres of stately white pines and
hardwoods just for our Nature Woods Walks & Extended Hiking Program, and over
7 acres of manicured lawns, with a full 3 acres within a perimeter fence
just for our
PlayTime Programs which do include tennis and frisbee session.
And, for the more sedate pet we offer Hugs & Cuddles,
Garden & Grassy Area Strolls
for a quiet and loving experience. See our

Swimming Programs:
Bokhara Pet Resort & Spa is located on the shore of beautiful Elk Lake,
with 300 feet of our very own beachfront for our canine swimming programs, or for
our pet boarding guests - you may come to visit your pet and take
the pet & your family for a refreshing dip. We
understand that not all dogs like to swim, but there isn't a
single dog that would not enjoy the sedate walk over our grounds to the lakeshore
and then a bit of fun while at the lake! |

NEAR TRAVERSE CITY, Michigan,
and just a few short minutes north
of the Grand Traverse Resort & Casino
(Acme, Michigan), close to Torch Lake, and we are located
right on
the West Shore of Elk Lake (Elk Rapids). We are
also just a short distance from the Grand Traverse Resort
Turtle Creek Casino in
Williamsburg, Michigan. We are also just one mile South of the Village of
Elk Rapids, Michigan.

Our
Wildlife:
Our grounds are
filled with wildlife which will catch the attention of our visiting
guests (and their owners), it is not uncommon to see deer, wild turkey, raccoons,
rabbits, and many varieties of squirrel and chipmunks while on a
nature walk of our
beautiful grounds. Our many bird feeders attract a lovely assortment of
colorful birds for our enjoyment as well as yours. All of our Nature Woods Walks
and Hikes are on-lead
through our stately white pine forest which lines the drive into the
resort. Our Play Time sessions are off lead within our multiple
fenced areas where our pet guests can play frisbee or T-Ball with
their PetPals.
