Our goal at Bokhara is to
provide a environment that nurtures both the emotional and
physical needs of our guests while keeping them safe and secure. From
our double
fenced floor to roofline perimeter fencing, our keypad locking systems, to
the individual snaps on each indoor run - safety of your pet is always first
in our minds. Cats have a completely separate antique cottage all to
themselves with two large free roaming suites, and a multitude of extra
large kitty runs - totally separate from any of the dog areas. We strive to be the stress-free option for times when you have to
be separated from your four-legged family member.

Rick's 30+ years in management, sales, and business
development are great assets as he trains and leads a
team of dedicated personnel. His focus is on providing a
great experience for your pets, and ease of mind for
you.
Rick & Shen Smith are also
feline lovers as well as dog
lovers. Animals and our pets have always been a
most important part of our whole family - just the same
as needing air and water to survive, this is the way we
feel about our family and our pets!

 Shen
Smith,
enjoys breeding dogs, showing dogs, and occasional dog show judging, she
became an AKC Licensed Borzoi Judge in 2000, and has judged Borzoi Specialty
events and International Specialty shows.
Shen is currently active in all phases of dogs & dog
shows. She enjoys and is active daily working with dogs, and has served the in
the dog show world through various and multiple capacities throughout the
years.

OUR
DOGS: Rick & Shen Smith started showing Borzoi
(Russian Wolfhounds) under the kennel name of BOKHARA in 1969, and
breeding in 1972.
Through limited breeding they have over 80 AKC championship titles
on dogs they have owned, and many field coursing titles on their
dogs. The name "Bokhara" comes from a city in Russia.
The Smith family has always had one or two Welsh Corgi
in addition to the Borzoi.
